CHICAGOS MIKE LEE EARNS WIN IN PRO BOXING DEBUT

Chicago boxer Mike Lee earned a four-round unanimous decison win over Emmitt Woods in Lee's professional debut on Saturday night (May 29) at the UIC Pavillion in Chicago. Fighting in the light heavyweight division, Lee scored 40-36 on each of the judges cards for the victory.

The hometown crowd was firmly in Lee's corner as the 22-year-old Notre Dame grad sported the blue and gold of his alma mater in the ring.

"Everyone at Top Rank is excited about Mike Lee," Top Rank CEO Bob Arum said. He is a determined young man who is dedicated and who works very hard with a top trainer in Ronnie Shields."

"It was great to debut here in Chicago in front of a hometown crowd. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way," said Lee.

"I want to thank Top Rank for making this possible," he continued. "Tonight was a dream come true for me and it wouldn't have been possible without my amazingly supportive trainers, family and friends. And, of course, my hometown fans."

Lee's next fight is scheduled for July 24 in Las Vegas Nevada.
